Throughout my college years at the United States Air Force Academy, I had no thought of pursuing Christ. My effort, strength, and focus centered on academic success. Although people knew me as a Christian, I refused to give the Lord pre-eminence in my heart, and as a result, a deep emptiness began to emerge, only to increase during my college years. After I graduated with some success, I found myself painfully empty and seeking something real of the Lord Jesus Christ. By His mercy, the Lord brought me to the local church where I developed a yearning and a need for the Bible. At that point in my life, as a young 22 year old, two things really helped me to lay hold of the Lord in a consistent way. First, all of the believers in the local church, whether in the homes or in the meetings, read the Bible and were always willing to share their enjoyment of Christ with me. Second, the ministry of Witness Lee opened up the Bible like I had never experienced in my 15 years as a Christian. The more I read the ministry, the more I read the Bible. Conversely, the more I read the Bible, the more I read the ministry. The believers in the local church brought me to the Bible and the ministry of Witness Lee, but in actuality they brought me to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Lord answered my prayers through the local church. I will thank and praise Him for eternity.
